Staff Spotlight: Jasmin Sahota

Next up for our staff spotlight series is Jasmin Sahota! Jasmin is our Marketing Specialist at Associated Labels and a valued member of our team. She’s our go-to for all things marketing and has been instrumental in the growth and development of our company’s brand:

1) How long have you worked at Associated?

Just over two years!

2) Describe your journey at Associated so far.

When I started at ALP, the marketing department was very new. It was almost like starting from scratch, which was so exciting to me! Over the past two years, I’ve worked on building our marketing foundation, and I’m looking forward to what’s to come in the next few years.

3) How would you describe the work environment?

Everyone is so friendly and open, and I love how collaborative the team is.

4) What is your favourite thing about working here?

The people, for sure! However, I also love that I have full freedom to my job to the best of my ability. Everyone is always open to suggestions, whether I need to collaborate with the team or work on a project by myself.

5) What's been your best day at work so far?

I don't know if I can recall one specific day, but my favourite days are typically long-term project completion days. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing all the team’s hard work come to life!

6) What are you most proud of since working here?

I’m proud of how far we’ve come with marketing. We’ve grown so much from barely being active on social media to consistent posts or minimal content on our website to tons of blog posts and resources.

7) What is the biggest challenge you've had since working here?

I think it was when I first started here, as it was quite difficult to know where to start. Marketing consists of so many areas and having no foundation was both exciting and challenging at the same time. Everything seemed so important, so it took a while to know how and where to schedule my time!

8) Do you have a particular moment or memory at Associated that stands out for you?

I don’t think there’s one in particular that stands out for me, but I have many special moments in mind, from picking fresh herbs from our herb garden on sunny workdays to team-building events!

9) What does a typical day look like for you, and what are you currently working on?

My day usually starts with checking my emails and organizing my to-do list for the day. Typically, that means creating content, working on our website, building resources for our sales team, and a mixture of whatever projects I’m working on at the time.

Currently, I'm working on a few big projects, including a trade show booth redesign and a new onboarding program with HR.

10) How does Associated support professional development?

Associated is extremely supportive when it comes to professional development. They're always enthusiastic about opportunities for growth!

11) What is on your wish list for the next 5 years?

To grow the marketing department and build a strong team.

12) Given the chance, who would you be for a day?

This is a tricky one. I don't think I have just one answer, it would be amazing to experience different talents and skills, from Mariah Carey to Simone Biles!
