2020: What We Learned

Dec. 16, 2020
2020

Well, that's 2020 wrapped up! It's been a long and very different year for us all.

We've all made many adjustments to our daily schedules, whether at work or in our personal lives. It has indeed been a year of many ups and downs. However, we wanted to end 2020 off on a high note, so we asked our team to share some positive takeaways they’ve had from this year. Here are a few of our favourites:

"It has given me time to reflect on what’s important in life and how to use time wisely.” – E.V.

“Being able to spend time with my family more without other responsibilities getting in the way. Life is different now for sure, but this year has taught me to be grateful for the things I couldn’t notice as much before.” – A.C.

“I adopted a second dog this year; we named her Ginger, and she is the sweetest little thing. A perfect companion to my older three-legged dog, Rusty.” – H.B.

“The slowdown of a way too fast-paced life. The inability to go abroad has allowed us to be tourists closer to home, and we have been able to really enjoy the aspects of B.C. that we probably wouldn’t have otherwise. Find the silver linings because they are most certainly there!” – C.A.

“We got to spend more time together as a family and appreciate the little things in life.” – B.R.

“The strength of family and the simplicity of walking with my children through forest paths, or connecting with loved ones all over the world through technology, has proven to strengthen relationships and prioritize the most important aspects of humanity.” – A.F.

“Live in the moment.” – A.P.

“Spending quality time with family on the weekends.” – J.S.

“Less distractions allowed me to finally pause and connect with myself. I’d stopped doing things I loved because I was too “busy” and while this time has been difficult, it’s also been a blessing to be able to start doing the things I loved again, such as reading, writing, cooking, and baking.” – L.M.
